Mentoring Resource and Case Manager

Position: Mentoring Resource and Case Manager

Position Purpose::

The primary goal of this position is build effective partnerships based on the needs of youth and families. Coordinates and collaborates with agency staff and community agencies to ensure consistency with BBBSEMO strategy, commitments, and goals.

Core Job Responsibilities

Support Mentoring Managers and assigned families to:

    • Provide match support to mentors and ensure youth safety
    • Partner with Mentoring Managers to organize and plan activities and events, including family engagement opportunities.
    • Ensuring accurate and timely document all information in Matchforce

Organize resources and supports (internal and external) for a minimum of 35-50 youth and families:

    • Partner with Mentoring Managers to understand needs of youth and families involved in the program
    • Work with internal and external partners to understand root challenges for students and families and develop partnerships for referrals.
    • Connect students and families with key resources identified, including follow up of referrals to external partners
    • Document challenges and successes for youth and families in Matchforce
    • Partner with other members of the resource team to learn and coordinate services

Support the development of the mentoring program structure:

    • Participate in weekly team meetings and participate in position specific trainings
    • Collaborate with other departments within agency to support the program: enrollment, recruitment, resources and marketing/communications
    • Develop documentation and processes for supporting the program, youth and their families.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of outcome reports, specifically focused on the youth within the program and administering surveys or other outcome tools to measure the impact of the program.



Education, Experience & Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years related work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of K-12 school and resource landscape
  • Knowledge of computers and relevant software
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to lead a team of individuals and experience in management
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and proof-reading skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work with a variety of staff
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Technology/computer skills Proficient in the following platforms: MS Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, & Teams); Outlook, & Zoom.
  • Flexible work hours to meet the needs of youth and families, including scheduled evenings, nights and weekends.
  • Must have car, valid driver's license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary will be based upon professional and academic experience (salary range - $43,000-$45,000).
  • 401(k)–3% match per year following first year of employment.
  • .625 cents reimbursement on business miles and 100% of out of office parking for business meetings, etc.
  • Immediate and 100% coverage on health and dental insurance.
  • Life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance following the first ninety days of employment.
  • 100% employer paid daily parking in covered garage.
  • After 90 days staff will receive 5 days of paid vacation and 10 days of paid vacation after one year of service.
  • Accrue 1 day per month of sick leave (can also be used for family illnesses)–can carry up to 30 days of sick leave.
  • 2 personal days per year following the first ninety days of employment.
  • Annual raises based on performance, culture and agency's ability.
  • 11 paid holidays.
