School Based Group Mentoring Manager

Position: School Based Group Mentoring Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:

The primary goal of this position is to empower young women and men (middle school to high school aged)

through mentoring, experiences and opportunities to enrich their self-identify and sense of

belonging - Theory of Change Framework.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Organize Group Mentoring Program:

  • Enroll students and families into Group Mentoring program with a goal of 20 active youth.
  • Ensure weekly check ins occur between assigned mentors and mentees.
  • Check in monthly with parents and accompany paid mentors on home visits.
  • Lead and organize group mentoring meetings and activities in partnership with school and mentors.
  • Work with community champions and school district to plan activities and experiences for youth following the BBBSEMO Theory of Change.
  • Document challenges and successes for youth in agency management system.

Partner with School:

  • Work with school principal and representatives to identify and recruit youth and families into the program.
  • Work primarily from the school and be accessible to students and families, including scheduled weekend hours.
  • Communicate and coordinate with school staff to provide resources to students and families.
  • Participate in the ABCToday Network (if applicable).

Coordinate paid and/or unpaid mentors and volunteers:

  • Recruit and enroll community-based volunteers into group mentoring program.
  • Collaborate with paid and/or unpaid mentors and ensure they have appropriate supports and training.

Support the development of the ABCToday Group Mentoring structure by:

  • Develop documentation and processes for supporting group mentoring and individual students.
  • Participate in the development of new outcome reports, specifically focused on the identified cohort.



EDUCATION & RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years related work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of K-12 school and resource landscape.
  • Knowledge of computers and relevant software.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and proof-reading skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work with a variety of staff.
  • Ability to work with a variety of staff, caregivers, volunteers, youth and external partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Technology/computer skills Proficient in the following platforms: MS Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, & Teams); Outlook, & Zoom.
  • Flexible work hours to meet the needs of schools, team members and community leaders/organizations including nights and weekends.
  • Must have car, valid driver's license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary will be based upon professional and academic experience (salary range - $40,000-$43,000).
  • 401(k)–3% match per year following first year of employment.
  • .625 cents reimbursement on business miles and 100% of out of office parking for business meetings, etc.
  • Immediate and 100% coverage on health and dental insurance.
  • Life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance following the first ninety days of employment.
  • 100% employer paid daily parking in covered garage.
  • After 90 days staff will receive 5 days of paid vacation and 10 days of paid vacation after one year of service.
  • Accrue 1 day per month of sick leave (can also be used for family illnesses)–can carry up to 30 days of sick leave.
  • 2 personal days per year following the first ninety days of employment.
  • Annual raises based on performance, culture and agency's ability.
  • 11 paid holidays.
