School Data Specialist

POSITION PURPOSE: The primary goal of this position is to provide actionable and quality data analysis to ABCToday team members to support their work with network partners, school personnel, children, youth, and families served through our school-based partnerships and programs.


Core Job Responsibilities

Collect, analyze, and report ABCToday data:

  • Collaborate with district data contacts to collect quarterly ABCToday data.
  • Compile, clean, and analyze data utilizing Excel and other tools.
  • Prepare data reports for quarterly network meetings and other reporting needs.

Participate in ABCToday collaboration meetings:

  • Serve as the data expert in cross-department collaborative decision-making meetings.
  • Prepare additional data analysis and reports as needed to support work with networks, Targeted Supports, Group Mentoring, and one-to-one matches.

Maintain data cleanliness:

  • Administer and maintain ABCToday data systems, ensuring data cleanliness, security, and validity.
  • Ensure proper confidentiality and security practices are followed by all users.

Provide technical support and training:

  • Support agency staff with training and basic troubleshooting related to data system usage.
  • Create documentation and other training tools as needed, and escalate issues regarding system functionality quickly to minimize interruptions.

Assist with agency IT tasks:

  • In collaboration with other agency IT team members, ensure agency staff have technology needed to complete their work in a timely and efficient fashion.

EDUCATION & RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree; Associate's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with data collection, cleaning, analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
  • Experience with troubleshooting basic issues related to computers and/or software.
  • Knowledge of basic formulas in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet programs.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong solution-oriented problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and proof-reading skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work with a variety of staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to teach and respond to others' needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Technology/computer skills needed. Proficient in the following platforms: MS Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, & Teams); Outlook and Zoom. Experience using data management systems is required. Must have comfort with learning new cloud-based applications.
  • Flexible work hours to meet the needs of team members, schools, and community partners, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Salary will be based upon professional and academic experience (salary range - $40,000-$43,000)
  • Immediate and 100% coverage on health and dental insurance
  • Life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance following the first ninety days of employment.
  • 401(k)–3% match per year following first year of employment.
  • .625 cents reimbursement on business miles and 100% of out-of-office parking for business meetings, etc.
  • Employer paid daily parking in covered garage.
  • After 90 days staff will receive 5 days of paid vacation and 10 days of paid vacation after one year of service.
  • Accrue 1 day per month of sick leave (can also be used for family illnesses)–can carry up to 30 days of sick leave.
  • 2 personal days per year following the first ninety days of employment.
  • Annual raises based on performance, culture and agency's ability.
  • 11 paid holidays.
