Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri is a growing organization and always focused on taking the best care of its many constituents. It is the 6th largest affiliate in the nation and for over 6 years been the leader in quality service. It focuses its services on youth ages 5-25. POSITION PURPOSE: As the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, you will be a key member of our executive team, responsible for developing and executing our overall marketing and communication strategies. You will lead a talented team and collaborate closely with various departments to enhance our brand, engage our target audiences, and drive growth.


Core Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing marketing and communications team.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.

Project Management:

  • Create and drive critical project plans that measurably contribute to volunteer recruitment goals and annual fund raising goals including large fundraisers.

Brand Management:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a strong and consistent brand identity.
  • Ensure brand compliance across all mediums and channels.

Content Strategy:

  • Overall lead the creation of an annual marketing and communication content plan in alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs) and resonates with our target audiences.
  • Manage content creation, including blogs, articles, social media posts, and videos.

Digital and Social Media Marketing:

  • Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns, including SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media advertising, and website optimization.
  • Analyze and report on the performance of digital marketing efforts.

Public Relations:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets and industry influencers.
  • Manage crisis communications and handle media inquiries as needed.

EDUCATION & RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications leadership roles preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and communication strategies.
  • Strong understanding of digital and social media marketing, content creation, and brand management.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and communication strategies.
  • Experience working with all levels; ability to prepare and present to senior teams and Board of Directors as well as working with major donors, corporate CEOs, Bigs, and government officials
  • Excellent strategic planning and operational deployment skills; able to translate vision and strategy into clear efficient successes
  • Strong project planning and management skills; able to manage multiple key projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively.

QUALIFICATIONS

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Technology/computer skills needed. Proficient in the following platforms: MS Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, & Teams); Outlook and Zoom. Experience using data management systems is required. Must have comfort with learning new cloud-based applications.
  • Flexible work hours to meet the needs of team members, schools, and community partners, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Salary will be based upon professional and academic experience.
  • Immediate and 100% coverage on health and dental insurance.
  • Life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance following the first ninety days of employment.
  • 401(k)–3% match per year following first year of employment.
  • .625 cents reimbursement on business miles and 100% of out-of-office parking for business meetings, etc.
  • Employer paid daily parking in covered garage.
  • After 90 days staff will receive 10 days of paid vacation and 10 days of paid vacation after one year of service.
  • Accrue 1 day per month of sick leave (can also be used for family illnesses)–can carry up to 30 days of sick leave.
  • 2 personal days per year following the first ninety days of employment.
  • Annual raises based on performance, culture and agency's ability.
  • 11 paid holidays.
